  • While we’d love to be able to give reliable “ball park” numbers in response to this question, we simply can’t. In order to determine the cost, we need to know what the process for making the product is, what ingredients are used, type of packaging, estimated yield for the finished batch, how long it will take to make it and how many hands we need to make available. We strive to give the best possible pricing and hate to create unrealistic expectations—so we develop pricing individually for each customer.

  • Well, that depends on what type of product you want to make, but it all starts with that first zoom meeting with Genuine Local.  We can review the requirements for different types of food products and the associated approvals, labeling and licensing requirements.  As a minimum, you will need to have your business registered, demonstrated food safety controls in how you make it, an FDA compliant label and some production facility specific paperwork that Genuine Local will provide to you.

    Fill out the form on our Get Started page and we will reach out to schedule a new customer meeting with you.  Meetings are regularly scheduled on Wednesday mornings between 8 and 11am.

  • It is only $35.00 per hour to rent the kitchen – that includes access to any of the semi-automated equipment available (and there’s a LOT of it). 

    Genuine Local strives to never schedule Local Makers in a way that creates competition for the same equipment or when any production might in some way interfere with other activities in the kitchen. 

  • At Genuine Local, we like to be able to pronounce every ingredient in the food made here.  Additionally, we are fans of natural colors, preservatives and flavorings. So to us, “clean food” means food made without the use of artificial flavoring, preservatives or coloring.
